After-Wedding Schwenker Party Details
No visit to Saarland, Germany is complete without experiencing the two national pastimes: wandern (hiking) and schwenken (barbecuing). You can knock both off your to-do list on Sunday, July 15, 2018!
Hike
Join us for an easy 7 km (↑160m, ↓160m) route that can be done with standard walking shoes (it’s also baby-stroller friendly). The path is well-shaded and we will visit the castle Burg Montclair at the midway point where refreshments and washrooms are available. The hike will end at the party location.
Meeting point at 13:00: Parking at the end of the road Milchweg in Mettlach (GPS: 49.489549 N, 6.592075 E). Additional parking at Gangolfer Str. 20-24 (5 min. walk). The meeting point may be reached from Schloss Saareck (20 min. walk) or the Mettlach train station (15 min. walk).

Starting around 17:00 (Pavillon Turnverein Mettlach, Pavillonstraße, 66693 Mettlach)
Enjoy some meat from the grill with all the trimmings and a view overlooking the town of Mettlach!

After-Wedding Schwenker Party
We’re excited to announce that the festivities don’t end with the wedding. On Sunday, July 15, 2018, we will be going on a group hike with a barbecue (Schwenker) party to follow.
The hike will start at 13:00 at a meeting point in Mettlach that is to be decided. The route will take us towards the Saarschleife and end at the party location around 17:00:
